The Layers Of An Onion (07.03.2008)
When we think of awakening, we may do so via the analogy of an onion. There are many layers to an onion, and as we get through each layer, we may cry, until at some point, we can finally see what has been at the core all along.
It is very similar with waking up to our true nature. To do so effectively, we need to get through a lot of limiting beliefs which are present at a subconscious level. These limiting beliefs express themselves in the form of emotional discomfort, and they do so because any rigidly defined limit is unlike our deepest, true nature. As beings, we are boundless, and it is just our imagination, which at a subconscious and conscious level, creates the illusion of forms which we see play out in our lives every day. It's just a game...leela, as some would call it.
And it's alright if we want to enjoy ourselves in this game for a while, and indeed manifesting is probably all about that. But it's just a game, and that is worth remembering. Not least, because in an ironical way, the more we are aware of how it's just 'a game', the more we can experience whatever we want within the game.
Our aptitude at manifesting whatever we want, to a great extent, depends upon the extent to which our subconscious is free of limiting programs which essentially are all about limitation rather than possibility. If we have no limiting programs at all, we manifest what we want instantly. So the very fact that we're experiencing a time buffer in manifestations means that there is some limiting program running at a subconscious level.
One way in which this expresses itself is in the manner in which we 'receive' inspirational flashes. We already have all we need to know at a deeper level within us, and we just need to access it. The following diagram helps to make the point:

Our conscious, surface level is constantly receiving inspiration from the deepest levels of ourselves. It's just a matter of how much of it is being edited out by the programming at more surface subconscious levels. These surface subconscious levels not only filter how much inspiration we receive, but also provide stimuli of their own; meaning that the subconscious is the major source of the conscious level's behaviour. At the same time, the conscious level can also rewrite the subconscious programming. The innate knowing we all have can't be rewritten, because that is of a different energy than the one which the conscious level uses to rewrite the subconscious programming.
We need to not only become aware of this, but take action to rewrite the subconscious conditioning if we are ever to be truly free. Because even if we're aware of the process, we only star to take control of it once we rewrite the subconscious conditioning towards something more conducive to our true fulfillment.
