Positive Affirmations Background

Affirmations are concise statements which are either thought or spoken out loud. An example would be "I'm good enough to do xyz" When these statements are repeated over and over again, they have the potential to reprogram our sense of reality and thus release energetic blockages. As they can be so effective, it would make sense to understand what exactly makes them so. There are certain recurring themes which can be found in the most effective affirmations, and they shall be explored here.

One is quite obviously how all the most efficient affirmations are worded in the present tense. That is necessary, for an affirmation which states something as being the case in the fuure attracts more of the same- waiting for the future. The only moment we ever experience is the present, and so in order to attract something into our actual experience, we need to be in tune with it being here in the present. If you want to be happy, then affirmations are only likely to help with with that in the most effective amnner by your affirming your happiness right now.

Another key component is found in how most useful affirmations are concise and to the point. They ideally fit into one sentence, whilst being no longer than 10 words or something like that. The more concise the statement, the more often it can be repeated, and the easier it is to retain it as a new default sense of reality.

Even another attribute of effective affirmations is that they allways affirm the positive. They always talk of what is wanted, rather than what is unwanted. What you focus on is what you align your energy with, and so what you attract (see this article if you are new to the concept[opens a new window]). To focus on what we want is to form an energetic resonance with it. So the best affirmations just focus on what we want.

There are more things to consider, but if you keep just these few principles in mind when forming affirmations, then they will almost certainly be a lot more efficient.
