Your World Is You
(04.03.2008)
Everything in your world is actually you. In the eyes of many, that's a bit of a strong statement to make, but I'll explain. On one level the statement may be interpreted in the sense of how our interpretation of the world is our world, because we haven't got a different way of perceiving it. If you hear in a certain frequency range, than the sounds of that frequency range effectively become those which exist to you. That is one level of it. But it goes further.
From a point of view of the nature of reality and how we attract experiences, there is no philosophical difference between us and our world. Our world is a mirror of us, because some of the essence of everything in our experience needs to resonate to our own energy to be there. If your hearing isn't tuned into the ultrasound frequency range, then it doesn't occur in your experience. And if your state of being isn't tuned into experiencing certain kinds of circumstances, then they don't show up in your experience. I have written more about the energetics of this in energy and the law of attraction .
Everything in you life is like a projection of your inner self, and upon closer observation reveals itself to be a mirror of your own subconscious sense of reality. If your deepest subconscious sense of reality says 'this is how life is' then that's the experience you draw towards you. The belief in a thing attracts the 'evidence' to support it.
This mirroring is mainly about what we feel at a subconscious level. The subconscious provides the basic blueprint for our life, and the conscious level moves within the parameters of that blueprint. So what we're effectively doing when we use the law of attraction is to reprogram our subconscious sense of reality so that our default point of attraction in a certain area of our life shifts; thus revealing the corresponding result. We constantly experience something when it is totally our default state of being to do so. That's why we don't need to keep focussing on something from a conscious awareness level in order for it to be in our experience. More about how our subconscious is the basis for what appears in our lives may be found in my essay entitled the subconscious and the law of attraction.
Essentially anything in our lives is in some way a mirror of our own state of being. The things which are constantly present mirror our default state of being. It might be interesting to think of people, places and circumstances in your experience, and to really honestly ask yourself 'where am I like that?'. When something is in our experience, it's always either a direct mirror or that we believe life to be in a certain way at a deeper, subconscious level. But is always a mirror. And is that not an incredibly empowering thing to contemplate? Because it means that by changing our own attitudes, we can change our world. Actually, that last sentence summed up the essence of effectively advancing through life: If you want change, change yourself, and not others. If you change yourself, the people in in your life change too.
